Have I mentioned what a pack rat you are?  You love keeping odds and ends of just about everything.  You keep used glow sticks, all papers from school, broken toys and just about anything else you find!  Our deal has been that if you can keep it in a box under your bed, I won't say anything about it.  But, the underneath of your bed has quite a disaster lately, so we cleaned under there today.  I was really proud of you when you are able to throw away most of what was truly garbage.  I really can't blame you for wanting to keep everything, I am exactly the same way.  I have a hard time throwing away anything!

Tuesday, April 22, 2014

You had a book fair at school this week and I was really proud of you this morning when you got your own money out to take to school to buy what you wanted.  You didn't even ask me for anything!  That's an important lesson that parents want their children to learn!  Good job!

You brought home a letter from school today saying you had tested high enough on the school district tests to be considered for the "Talented and Gifted" program.  I am so proud of you!  I had to answer a questionnaire about some of your habits and traits at home and you will do some further testing at school before we find out for sure if you would be in the program, but I am so proud of you!  You have done so well in school this year and you have really excelled in every aspect!

I was worried about Connor on Sunday night because he had a tummy ache all day, so after both you and Connor had fallen asleep in my bed, I put you in your bed and kept Connor with me.  But, it turns out that I should have kept you there!  About 10:00 you came into my room and threw up all over! :(  Poor guy!  You only threw up that once and in the morning, you felt OK, so you went to school.  But, at about 10:00 that morning, I got a call from the school to come and get you.  The secretary at the school thought that you probably had too much Easter candy, but I know it wasn't that because all 3 of us were sick!

So, we had a very lazy day at home with all of sick.  We watched movies and ate jello!

Friday, April 18 - Sunday, April 20

We had a wonderful Easter weekend with the Jenks' family!  We love it when they come to visit from Mountain Home!  On Friday night we spent the night at Grandma Packer's house, so we could enjoy all the fun!  All the kids had a great time running around outside!  After dinner, Grandma had some cupcakes ready for everyone to decorate.  There were sprinkles everywhere!

On Saturday Morning, we decorated Easter Eggs!  Sometimes, I'm not sure if more of the dye gets on your hands or the eggs!

After the egg decorating, you and Connor were taken up to St. Anthony to practice for the play you are going to be in.  Jeni and Mackalya are in a play for the Teton Dam flood.  I'm not sure of the name of the play, but Jeni got you and Connor into the play and today was your first practice.  You are going to be extras and get to be in a dance with buckets!  You are both really excited to be in the play!

Later on Saturday afternoon, Grandma had a big Easter Egg hunt for all the Grandkids!  Your color was purple and you got to find 30 purple eggs!  There were lots of fun goodies in the eggs!  The Easter Bunny also came to our house on Saturday afternoon and you got some bucket stilts, a kite and some yummy candy!

Dressed up in your new Easter clothes!  Such handsome boys!  I'm so proud of both of you!

We had a great Sunday dinner with the Jenks and Bybees at Grandma's.  We sure love being able to spend time with our family!!!

You had a pretty rough day today.  As soon as you came home from school, you became upset over a lot of small things and I know it's because you are tired and not getting enough sleep.  You have been waking up before 6:00 almost every morning.  You do go to sleep each night by 7:30, but I think you need to go to sleep even earlier.  It's hard to get you in bed so early, but I don't know what else to do.

We went to your school tonight for a book sale from the library.  They were selling old books for $.25 and you and Connor were both were very excited and you found enough of your money to buy 7 books!  What really impressed me was that you didn't even ask me to buy you any books.  You wanted to buy them with your own money.  And what touched my heart was you wanted to buy me a book while were there.  You found a Harry Potter book and was about to buy it for me, when I let you know that I already had it.  Thank you so much for thinking of me!  You always think of me and I am so proud of your tender and loving heart!

Clifford the Big Red Dog was also at the school!

Friday, April 11 - Wednesday, April 16, 2014

Mommy wasn't feeling very good on Friday, so Jeni took you and Connor on bike ride for a little bit.  She sure is good to you two!  On Saturday, we met the Bargabos' family in Idaho Falls at Leo's to celebrate Cooper's birthday.  We sure have a lot of fun with them!

We then went to JcPenney and had both your pictures taken for your birthdays. You're so photogenic and so handsome!

We then went to Grandma's and you and Connor played out in the garden and dug for worms for over an hour!  It looked like you were having a lot of fun!  Mommy still wasn't feeling very good, so Grandma let you and Connor spend the the night at her house.  Grandma brought you back home in time for church on Sunday.  You LOVE spending the night at Grandma's and I'm so glad that you were able to do that.

One of your favorite things to do at home lately has been to get me and Connor and all watch a movie together and then you make a bowl of treats for each of us.  You give us whatever you can find in the cupboards - popcorn, cereal, fruit snacks, marshmellows, etc.

For your birthday, Grandma and Grandpa Boorom sent you $25 and you decided that you wanted to buy nun-chucks from Master Laderman.  You picked out a wooden set, which makes me a little nervous.  In class, you only use foam ones and you really get those nun-chucks flying!  I am so worried that you are going to knock yourself in the head!

Your favorite thing to do at school these days is 4-square and you tell me all about how you and your friends play during recess.  It sounds like it has become quite a production!

Thursday, April 10, 2014

We watched "Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang" today.  I don't know if you were that impressed by it and I had not seen it since I was pretty little.  I had forgotten a lot about it.  But, you and Connor were signing the song after it ended!  Another nice Spring day, so we rode bikes again for a little bit tonight.  You and Connor love it and make a race track out in the parking lot and in Jeni's drive way!

I think school is starting to wear on you a little bit.  You're tired of doing homework every night and you tell me that you are already know all of the stuff.  I think you must have Spring fever!  But, Summer is right around the corner!

Wednesday, April 9, 2014

Karate day!  You really have a great desire to be helpful and you show this at Karate.  When Master Laderman has the class line up, you always help the younger kids get to where they need to be.  You also help them count when Master Laderman has the class count out loud.  You have excelled so much in Karate!  You know all the words in Korean that Master Laderman quizzes you on and you can say all the pledges without any help.  It is really fun to watch you!

Tuesday, April 8, 2014

I'm not sure why, but you did not have a good day!  We walked home from school today and you tripped and hurt your ankle and then you were just sad and tired the rest of the day.  When I asked what was wrong, you told me that you were just tired and didn't know what was wrong.  Sometimes I worry that you are thinking about a millions different things in that cute, little head of yours!

Today was the nicest day we have had this Spring, so we were outside riding bikes and you thought that a bee had landed on you.  Last summer, you did get stung on 3 different occasions, so I don't blame you for being cautious of bees, but you are petrified.  You are honestly frozen with fear of them.  It breaks my heart and I don't know how to help you.

Monday, April 7, 2014

For Family Home Evening tonight, we watched a couple of Mormon Messages online.  One of them talked about Jesus and how he died for us.  Very seriously and with a quivering lip and tears in your eyes, you turned to me and asked, "How can I know that Jesus is true"?  My heart was overwhelmed with your innocence and your faith.  You have the greatest desire to be good.  You are naturally good-hearted and kind.  You amaze me and I am so humbled to be your mother.  I am honored to be the one to guide you on your journey.  I shared James 1:5 with you and talked about how you can ask Heavenly Father anything you want to know.  So, in your prayer tonight, you asked Heavenly Father to help you know that Jesus is true.

We watched General Conference this weekend and once again you amazed me.  You received a worksheet from Primary last week that had all of the General Authorities and you could write down what their talks were all on.  Saturday morning, you sat in front of the computer and listened very intently to the talks.  You wrote down the words you knew were important.  My heart was over-filled as I watched you.  You watched most of conference on Saturday.  Sunday was a little tougher for you to sit still, but you still listened to all of the General Authorities.  You even asked me how to become a General Authority.

I believe that you destined for greatness.  Your heart is kind, you are caring and unselfish.  I could not be more proud!

I am so proud of how well you are doing in Karate.  You really enjoy it and you pay attention the entire time and you are very quick to understand and do what you are asked.  Both you and Connor are testing for your yellow belts this Friday and you are really excited about it.  I know you will do great!

Tuesday, January 21, 2014

No school again today due to a Teacher In-service day, so we spent the day playing at home and had Cooper and Amelia come over while their mom had class.  You all played Mario on the Wii and there were no big melt-downs.  I often have to turn the Wii off when you are all trying to play it.

You don't play the Wii often, but today you kept playing it even after Cooper and Amelia left.  I think you are ready to go back to school.

Happy 5th Birthday Connor!

Connor turned 5 today.  And although he wanted mac and cheese for breakfast, we finally talked him out of that!  We did let him choose everything today and you didn't have school today due to Human Rights Day, so we had a lot of fun!  We went to I-Jump and took John with us.  It was a lot of fun!  You both love that place!

The pictures are blurry, but they are still fun!

We then had lunch and McDonalds, you both went to Karate, then we had mad and cheese for dinner and then we had Connor's party with Grandma and Grandpa Packer and the Bybee's and Uncle Bryce. You gave Connor the legos.

After the party and when you were supposed to be in bed, you had a little bit of a melt down.  You were really sad that the whole day was about Connor and that he got the presents.  I know it's hard for you to understand, but I kept telling you that you get your day in about 2 months and it will be just as special.  You finally went to sleep, so I hope you understood.  You love your brother and you are good and kind.  It's just hard to have patience and wait your turn for your birthday!

Sunday, January 19, 2014

You got to go sit by your primary teacher today during Sacrament meeting and I have never seen you sit so still and reverent for so long!  It was really cute!  You are a good and kind boy with such a gentle heart.

Sometimes you keep a journal and it is really fun to read it.  You keep it by your bed and will write it in at night before you go to sleep.  You will only write a couple of sentences, but it's fun to watch you do this.  I do go back and make sure I can read what you wrote and enter the correct spelling when needed.

Tomorrow is Human Rights Day and today you told me all about Martin Luther King Jr.  Your teacher at school did a really good job teaching you about him, because you knew pretty much the entire story.  You knew that he wanted to change thing between black people and white people and that someone shot him.

We have 11:00 church now, so I try to feed you right before church, but I don't want your church clothes to get dirty!  So, here you all dressed up and ready for church and being protected by your robes!

Saturday, January 18, 2014

You and Connor played together all day, but I think the togetherness gets to be a little much for you at times. When you try to do your own thing and spend time away from Connor, he follows you and finds ways to bug you to no end!  He jumps on you, pokes you, tackles you, tickles you and does anything  he can to get your attention.  Connor misses you so much while you are at school and he tries to make up for lost time all day on Saturdays and Sundays.

John worked on his Eagle project today at the Romance Theater and put up some siding in the basement, that was very much needed.  We came towards the end of the project to take everyone to Pizza Pie Cafe to celebrate Connor's birthday.  Connor's birthday isn't until Monday, but he really wanted to eat at Pizza Pie Cafe and today was the best day to do that.  We had to wait for the crew to finish working, so you and Connor pretty much had free reign of the theater.  You explored all the rooms downstairs and found a lot of treasures and also played hide-and-go-seek in the theater.  You both had so much fun hiding in the seats and curtains.

You really wanted to help drill and hammer and cut wood.  But, there wasn't much for you to do, but it was a lot of fun to watch!

Friday, January 17, 2014

Your friends at school are always making each other little gifts.  You have come home with bracelets, bean bags and your latest gift is this penguin from Emma.

Thursday, January 16, 2014

Some days are still pretty long for you at school and you come home and need some time to unwind and need time to yourself before you can start homework or help me around the house!

You have been singing a lot around the house.  You have made up a song about a turtle and sing it all the time.  I need to get the words and write them down!

You came home today with a story that you had written all by yourself and you were really proud and you had done a great job on it!

Wednesday, January 15, 2014

Each night for bed, you and Connor take turns sleeping in my bed.  It makes bed time go so much more smoothly!  When you are in the same room trying to go to sleep, there is way too much giggling and talking and playing.  Last night was your turn to sleep in my bed and before you went to sleep, you begged me to let you stay in my bed all night.  I usually carry you back into you bed after you are asleep.  But, both you and Connor are going through a phase of coming into my bed at night and it makes my bed very crowded.  But, you begged and begged to stay, and said you just wanted to be with me.  So, I let you stay and of course Connor joined us some time in the night and of course I had 3 inches of bed to myself and of course did not sleep that well!  I don't know how to get you both to stay in your own beds!

Monday, January 13, 2014

I asked you what your favorite part of school was and you told me it was doing crafts.  I am so proud of how well you are doing in school.  When you bring home your homework, you can do your math problems quicker than I can grade them!  You are doing so well with reading!  There are so many times that I watch you read and see a word that I think will be too hard for you and you read it with no problem!  The only thing you don't like doing is drawing.  Sometimes your math homework ask you draw bugs or people or bikes or animals and you get pretty frustrated that you can't draw them.  You ask me to draw them, but I can't draw either.  You finally told me your teacher told you that you could just draw boxes to represent the items.  I am so sorry that I had no artistic talent to pass on to you!

Sunday, January 12, 2014

This year, your primary class is in Senior Primary.  You thought this was pretty cool, but you said that the older kids don't listen very well and talk a lot.  You also told me that when you are out in the hall after class waiting to go into sharing time, Connor came out and saw you and gave you a hug.  You thought that was pretty nice of Connor.

You've been working on that ball maze that you got from Aunt Jessica and you are getting really good at it.  I have now gotten addicted to it too!  The sad thing is that you are probably better than me at it!

Saturday, January 11, 2014

We went to "Walking with Dinosaurs" this afternoon and you really liked it.  It was a live version movie of dinosaurs!  You have asked a couple of times if we can see it again.  We then met Grandma and Grandpa for dinner at Arctic Circle and then we all went to Kiwi Loco to celebrate that Connor had finished reading "Dick and Jane" before his 5th birthday.  It was a lot of fun to celebrate and you have been a big help to Connor by helping him read!

Friday, January 10, 2014

You did go to school today, although I had to drag you out of bed.  You were still asleep at 7:30 and when I tried to wake you up, you didn't want to and wanted to go back to sleep!  You very rarely sleep past 7:00, so I was sad to wake you up.  You said your tummy hurt, but then you ate breakfast and acted just fine!

Aunt Jessica gave you and Connor a gift card to Amazon for Christmas, so a couple of weeks ago, we looked on Amazon and found some fun ideas for gifts and put them in the "Wish List" area.  You quickly decided on a Perplexus ball maze.  You said you saw Uncle Barry playing with one and you really, really wanted it.  You played with it all afternoon and had a lots of fun with it.  You got pretty good at it and when I finally tried it, I was amazed at good you had gotten at it.  It takes a lot of practice, concentration and patience.

Thursday, January 9, 2014

You were coughing a lot this morning, so I didn't send you to school.  You and Connor played really well all day together while I worked.  You created a restaurant and you were the waiter.  You brought me the menu while I was at my desk and in a very professional manner told me that you would bring me what ever I would like.  You also told me that it was a "Bingo" restaurant and any time I wanted something I should yell out "Bingo" and you would come and take my order.  You're quite a profession businessman and you kept me full all day!

We all put together a puzzle that you both got from Christmas.  It was a 3D puzzle and it was so hard to put together!  The colors and picture kept moving and by the time we were done, there were 3 pieces left over that would not because I'm sure we put the puzzle together wrong, but we could not figure out how to fix it. It made us all cross-eyed!

Wednesday, January 8, 2014

Connor had a pretty rough night last and I was up with him from 3:00 to 5:00.  So, we all slept in until about 8:00 and because I was not feeling so great, we all stayed in bed and watched a movie together, but since you were feeling pretty good, I did get you to school by 10:00.  You even felt good enough to go to Karate again today.

We were reading out of the Book of Mormon tonight and read about he Liahona.  You said, "What would you do if I got one of those?"  And then you said you would take good care of it, but you wouldn't put it under your bed because it would get lost with everything else under there.  But, you would take it and put it in a box and protect it with packing material and not lose it.  Sometimes with your faith, I believe that you could get a Liahona!

Tuesday, January 7, 2014

Your throat was still hurting pretty bad this morning, so you stayed home again from school.  We have some throat spray to help, but you really hate it and make me count to 15 really fast so you can spit it out.  You also hate the throat drops.  You suck on them for about 10 seconds and spit it out.  After Connor went to pre-school, you started getting really bored, so started asking if you could go to school.  So, I gave in and let you go after lunch.  You said you you felt pretty good and when your throat started hurting, you put in a cough drop and you kept it in for a while and you were pretty proud about that.

When you came home from school, I was still finishing up some work on the computer and you asked me how my work day was.  I am so proud of you when you are so polite!

Monday, January 6, 2014

Your throat was still hurting really bad today, but you didn't have a fever but you stayed home from school. That makes you sad. You didn't even want to go to karate today. You wanted to go to bed at 5:30, and you fell right to sleep at 7:00, poor guy! You kept saying, "It's no fun to be sick. I have been sick too long!"  I sure hope you are better by tomorrow!
